(Cloudjumper can hear the faint beating of another dragon's wings, even at the distance they're at. His head turns into the direction of Toothless, nothing more than a dot on the horizon for the time being, and Valka is immediately attentive toward that direction, as well.) Come on, Cloudjumper, one more for the day, then we'll head home.

(And they needed to hurry, for the fear of Berk preparing to launch a full scale attack on said dragon. Cloudjumper's speed increases, as he beats his wings with more force to head to the dragon they think needs rescuing. It doesn't take long for that little speck in the sky to soon take more form, a pure black dragon against the colorful twilight sky. She's almost ready to call out, until Valka notices another outline against the dragon. Is that a... person?) Hold steady. I think there's a... a rider.

[ they shoot past a burst of clouds, and then hiccup can see it: a dragon, unlike he's ever seen before. he's too busy taking in all the details of the beast, analyzing how best to approach - and then he notices.

the dragon isn't alone. there's a rider on its back. it couldn't be a berkian viking, could it? could one of them have found and trained a new dragon without hiccup knowing? he was sort of the gatekeeper of all things dragons, after all. ]

Easy, Toothless. Let's go in slow. [ hiccup adjusts toothless's tailfin as they fly closer. he has no idea what to expect, but he's poised to direct toothless in evasive maneuvers, if needs be. ]

(valka hesitates on gaining anymore distance between the two of them, her curiosity getting the better of her at the sight of a night fury. once she's certain they're a fair enough distance from berk, she brings cloudjumper to a halt, wings beating in place as she turns to face the rider.

upon closer inspection, she almost let out a cry at the surprise of the rider being just a child. valka spends at least a minute in silence, looking over hiccup as best she can. it's hard to get a clear look when you're making sure not to get too close.) Who are you?
